Real-A-State is a group
based out of Clemson, SC. The group consist of 4
males and a female or 4 rappers and a singer. All
of the members are from different areas of South
Carolina. Flatline hails from Florence, Dru C from
Columbia, McCoy from Rock Hill, Boom from Clemson,
Eb Ski from Charleston.
The group was formed through the studio at Flatline’s
apartment where he had already been making beats
and tracks. Everybody was already tight with each
other because they all went to Clemson together,
with the exception of Boom. After playing around
with the music for a little while everybody started
realizing that the music they were producing sounded
better than most they were hearing on the streets
anyway.
From there Flatline and Dru C went on a mission
and made around 100+ beats from their apartment
and realized they had something special. When they
started recording and laying down tracks they realized
that in order for the group to be complete they
needed complete versatility.
Therefore the group was formed with Flatline bringing
the dirty south crunk, Dru C bringing the pimpish
flow, Mccoy harmonizing over the track, Boom coming
in smooth on everything, and Eb Ski bringing the
hard hood lady in the mix. With this combination
the group came together to make a name that stood
for something.
The name Real-A-State was formed to let the industry
and the world know that SC needs to be on the map
and they are repping a real state. The first album
is titled “Unclaimed Property” to let
everybody know that they were here to claim SC as
the new state of hip hop.
