The Feel is a songwriting and recording project begun by high school friends Nick Marcotte and Nick Zubel in 2005.

They met during a highschool track practice, in which Nick M insulted Nick Z’s roots by telling a Polish joke. They’ve been friends ever since.

Residents of Southern California for most of their lives, Zubel and Marcotte soon discovered the diverse sounds that were coming from the throats and strings of local singer-songwriters.

Blending coffee shop poetry, acoustic guitars and soulful vocals, the duo create unique and jazzy pop songs that revel in love, loss and thrift store girls. They have a handful of demos recorded and are currently working on material for their first full-length album.
